Prior to joining Gulf Hotels Group, he held several senior leadership roles at the Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, the sovereign wealth fund of the Kingdom of Bahrain, including Senior Director – Private Markets overseeing private markets investments across all asset classes and strategies, Vice President of Investments overseeing real estate and hospitality investments in Bahrain and globally. He also served as an Acting Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Real Estate Investment Co (Edamah) in 2011. Ahmed currently serves as a Vice Chairman of Bahrain Family Leisure Company. Representing Gulf Hotels Group, he is a board member in Bahrain Airport Hotel Company, Paradise Realty Holding Company and Injaz Bahrain.
